Spiritual formation is central to life at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, as seen through morning chapel services Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays when classes are in session. Services are led by faculty, students, and staff. Communion is celebrated on Tuesdays, and senior-led services are usually on Mondays and Thursdays. Learn more →

Columbia Theological Seminary will offer the course The Spirituality of “Stuff” in the Gospel of Luke Feb. 7–10. Participants will turn to Luke and the Acts of the Apostles to reflect on the intersection of spirituality and “stuff” and to ask, “What do our possessions have to do with our life of faith?” Get details →

The recently published Psalms for All Seasons is being used regularly in worship at University of Dubuque Theological Seminary this year. Chapel is weekdays during the August and January residencies, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the fall and spring terms. In fall and spring students prepare, preach, and lead services on Tuesdays; faculty and guests preach on Wednesdays; and morning prayer is offered on Thursdays. Find our more →

The Frank H. and Fannie W. Caldwell Chapel at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary provides a regular space for the community to engage in spiritual formation. The seminary’s website includes a diverse listing of churches in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, near the seminary. Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will present Exploring Christian Healing . . . For Ourselves and Our Ministries Jan. 6–11. Princeton Theological Seminary will offer an Advent Webinar Series for Congregations in December. The two-part series will be streamed live at no cost to churches that convene a group to watch. Session 1 will take place Dec. 2 and will focus on the theme “Contemplating Advent.” Session 2 will take place Dec. 9 and will deal with the theme “Small Advent Glimpses of God’s Big Cosmic Promises: The Old Testament Lectionary Texts for Advent, Year C.”

San Francisco Theological Seminary’s Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction program consists of three consecutive January terms, and in between each student works with a supervisor in his or her own geographical area. Courses provide knowledge of various aspects of spiritual direction and develop skills and sensibilities for this ministry. Get details

The Interdenominational Theological Center, which includes Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary, houses the Gardner C. Taylor Archives and Preaching Laboratory. It is a source for primary research by master’s and PhD students of homiletics. The archive houses Taylor’s written and recorded sermons, lectures, books, and articles. Find out more →

Union Presbyterian Seminary will convene a Pastoral Care Case Study Group on Fridays from Jan. 11 to March 15. Clergy of all denominations are invited to participate. Among other things, participants will present two pastoral care cases from their congregation. Members will form personal connections as they provide support for the ministries of one another.
