Pastors' Retreat

Seattle Presbytery

September 12-14, 2010 (Sunday evening through Tuesday noon)

Sponsored by the Pastors' Spiritual Formation Covenant of Central Washington Presbytery

Location:  Tall Timber Ranch

Focus and Leadership:  "Lord Teach Us To Pray"  led by Roger Lee, the immediate past moderator of the Synod of Alaska Northwest.

The spiritual formation opportunities of this retreat will give you portable personal tools, as well as tools for your congregation or prayer group. We will utilize the PC(USA) Lord, Teach Us to Pray. You will be able to consider, as well as taste, practices to help you, personally, and the groups you lead, in their spiritual formation. For those wanting to sample individual or group spiritual direction, opportunities will be provided. Pastors who register by September 1 will participate in choosing the individual and group topics for the retreat.

Retreat Leader's Background: Leadership will be provided by Roger Lee, an elder and spiritual director, and the immediate past Moderator of the PC(USA) Synod of Alaska/Northwest. He received his spiritual director training at the Vancouver School of Theology, one of the seminaries at the University of British Columbia.

He has taught a variety classes to introduce spiritual formation to groups. These classes included: the Labyrinth, Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina, Contemplation during Career Years, Social Justice and Meditation, Praying the Newspaper, Travel and the Faith Journey, Current Events and Contemplation, Praying Hymn Texts, Journaling, Group & Individual Spiritual Direction. His individual directees included both pastors and laity, male and female.
