Starting in January 2001, Calvin Presbyterian Church and two other churches will be hosting three Perspectives on the World Christian Movement classes for the Seattle area. The other two host churches are Overlake Christian (Redmond) and Snoqualmie Valley Alliance (Fall City).
Perspectives is an inter-denominational college level class, spanning 15 weeks, that has reached about 80,000 people in the U.S. and about another 30,000 in other countries. It is focused on helping people understand God’s purposes in the world, and how we fit in to those. The class will be given at about 200 locations in the U.S. Calvin is the only church west of Lake Washington that will host it in 2011. On the east side, it will be hosted by Overlake Christian, and at Snoqualmie Valley Alliance in Fall City. The class is attended by a wide spectrum of Christians from pastors, to those who want to learn more about how God is building his kingdom, to current missionaries, and people who are preparing for or considering going to the mission field. It is just as appropriate for those with a heart for local outreach missions as it is for those focused on global missions.
